Tarangire National Park is a nature reserve in northern Tanzania. It covers an area of around 2,600 square kilometers and is known for its large herds of elephants and diverse landscapes, which include garas savannahs, numerous baobab trees and striking rocky outcrops. In addition to elephants, the park is home to a variety of other wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest, and more than 500 species of birds.
The park is named after the Tarangire River, which flows through the park and is the lifeline for wildlife during the dry season. During this time, large herds of elephants and other animals gather by the river to drink and bathe, making it a great place for your wildlife viewing.
