TOUR OVERVIEW
Day 1 Tarangire National Park
We will pick you up at the airport in Arusha in the morning around 9 am. After a short welcome, we set off to Tarangire National Park, which we reach after about 2 hours of driving. The park is famous for having the largest elephant population in the country and is known for its ancient majestic baobab trees. Until sunset, you will be on a game drive and keep an eye out for the wildlife in this unique landscape. When the sun goes down, the first nocturnal park inhabitants gradually appear. For dinner and overnight stay, we reach the Bougainvillea Kankari Lodge in Karatu in the early evening.
Day 2 Ngorongoro Crater
Early in the morning you drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which we reach after a short drive through still cloudy mountain forests. Nowhere in Africa is there a greater chance of seeing all the Big Five (lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards and rhinos) in one place than here. At lunchtime, you can refuel with a warm lunch in the hippo pool picnic area, instead of cold chicken thighs from a cardboard box. In the afternoon, you will return to Arusha. Your safari guide will make sure you catch your return flight to Zanzibar in time.
